Diis Vini winery, founded and led by Teresa Casciello, celebrates the winemaking traditions of the Sannio, Vesuvio, and Sorrento Peninsula regions. With a strong commitment to artisanal viticulture, Diis Vini continues a family heritage that highlights the richness of volcanic soils and the unique climatic characteristics of this area. In the heart of Sannio, the vineyards extend over hills with mixed soil composition, giving the wines a unique complexity. Native varieties like Aglianico and Falanghina reach their highest expression here. The Aglianico del Sannio is distinguished by its robust tannins and ripe red fruit notes, while Falanghina offers freshness and delicate floral hints. Diis Vini’s philosophy is based on sustainability, using only copper and sulfur for treatments, thus ensuring the purity and integrity of the wine. At the foot of Vesuvius, Diis Vini’s vineyards thrive on soils rich in volcanic ash and pyroclastic material deposited over millennia of eruptions. Varieties such as Piedirosso and Caprettone are cultivated here, benefiting from the unique microclimate. Vesuvio wines are known for their minerality and smoky notes, reflecting the proximity to the volcano. All vineyard work is done by hand due to the steep slopes, which can reach gradients of up to 45%, and the harvest is a traditional activity that even involves the use of mules. In the Sorrento Peninsula, Diis Vini cultivates vineyards on narrow terraces ranging from 10 to 1.5 meters in width, using the Pergola Sorrentina training system. This method is not only an integral part of the breathtaking landscape but also allows to produce wines with distinctive character. Cultivated varieties include Piedirosso, Aglianico, and Sciascinoso, locally known as Olivella for the shape of its berries. The sparkling wines of the Sorrento Peninsula, such as Gragnano and Lettere, are light, semi-sweet, and rich in history, dating back to the Bourbon era. Perfect match with fish dishes, vegetables, and, of course, pizza.
