Review
Good medium ruby. Sexy, super-ripe aromas and flavors of crystallized red cherry, blackberry liqueur and figs. Plush, pliant and perfumed; not the last word in complexity but creamy and delicious already. The juicy finishing flavors of black cherry and licorice convey an almost candied ripeness. Finishes very long, with serious, broad tannins.

Aromas of leather, cherry, wool and stone follow through to a medium body, round and fine tannins and a savory finish. Delicious now.

Review
Medium-dark red-ruby. Simple, easygoing aromas and flavors of red cherry, and red berries, plus ripe Mirabelle and yellow peach characterize this midweight bottling. Showcases outstanding balance and an undertone of wet stone to its clean, refreshing fruit-forward personality. Nicely persistent on the delicate, spicy finish. Another successful 2014 Brunello that tastes more like a very high quality Rosso di Montalcino but that will provide lots of drinking pleasure over the near term.

Review
Masses of crushed cherries, cinnamon, clove, cedar and white smoke develop, as the slightly extroverted yet totally seductive 2016 Brunello di Montalcino blossoms in the glass. The silkiest of textures give way to tart red berries and spice, all propelled by vibrant acids, as salty minerals and fine tannins settle in. While structured and young, there’s still so much going on here, with a sweet and sour display of currants, cranberry and licorice lingering on.

Review
The 2015 Fattoria del Pino Brunello opens with a zesty red berry display in its bouquet, complemented by sweetly-spiced violet and offset with a hint of animal musk, which gives the bouquet both a seductive fruity quality yet also an alluring rusticity. On the palate, soft textures play host to pure, sweet red fruits, contrasted by hints of confectionery spice and some of the prettiest inner florals I’ve ever experienced. The finish is long, as youthful tannins come forward, but it also remains balanced and feminine, echoing a mix of mineral-encased red berries. It’s a very pretty expression of Brunello and one that I enjoy quite a bit.

A juicy and layered red with lovely fruit that ranges from cherries to orange peel. It's medium-bodied with firm tannins that take you down the wine. Structured and focused with lovely purity of fruit. Drink after 2027.

Review
The 2017 Rosso di Montalcino shows musky black cherries complemented by notes of sage, cedar and flowery undergrowth. It’s silky in texture with fleshy ripe red fruits offset by wild herbal tones, salty minerals and energizing acidity. This does a fantastic job of showing the richness of the vintage, yet it’s coupled with vibrancy and framing structural components that result in a thoroughly enjoyable glass of Rosso.

Review
Dusty, floral and pretty in an understated way, the 2018 Rosso di Montalcino opens with nuances of dried strawberries, cloves and sweet melon. It’s round and plush on the palate with a pleasant inner sweetness and ripe red and hints of blue fruit, but also a salty flourish that adds lovely contrast. The 2018 leaves a hint of adolescent tannins to mingle with residual acids, creating a push and pull of tannins, while finishing long with echoes of violet candies. This is just entering maturity and really strutting its stuff.

Chocolate orange, baked strawberries and hints of pine cone here, with some grilled mushroom, too. Ripe and plump, with soft tannins and a full body. Rich for this appellation. Drink now.

Review
A mix of plum sauce, brown spice, sweet tobacco and peppery herbs creates a rich yet totally seductive bouquet as the 2016 Rosso di Montalcino Il Jeccardo blossoms in the glass. It’s silky-smooth, almost creamy in feel, without a hard edge in sight, ushering in ripe red and black fruits, as a mentholated freshness adds lift toward the close. The 2016 finishes a bit shorter than anticipated, yet leaves pretty nuances of black cherry and a bitter twang to resonate on. Il Jeccardo loses a bit of momentum through the finale, yet still leaves a lasting impression.
