Review
The 2012 Stagi, Il Palazzino's 100% Colorino, is fabulous. The tannins that are so common in Colorino are nicely domesticated, while the ripe, racy fruit of the vintage comes through nicely. Super-ripe red cherry, plum, rose petal and exotic spice notes build into the flamboyant finish. Even with all of its intensity, the 2012 is a midweight wine with a lot of emphasis on structure. I loved it.

Review
The 2015 Stagi 100% Colorino, is a drop-dead gorgeous beauty. Ample and unctuous on the palate, with tremendous textural depth, the 2015 delivers serious fruit intensity while avoiding the hard tannins that plague many other Colorinos. Hints of sage, lavender, mint and spice notes round out this succulent, hugely delicious Tuscan wine.

Elderberries, brambleberries, dark-cherry compote and vanilla. Full-bodied and quite structured on the palate with a robust core of fruit and energy. Drink from 2021.

Review
The 2016 Stagi is the last release of what was a tremendous vintage for Il Palazzino. Dark and potent in the glass, with tons of richness, the Stagi offers up notable density and pure power. Black cherry, plum, gravel, game, licorice, spice and tobacco build into the substantial finish. The 2016 is beautifully done.

Review
The 2018 Stagi is redolent of dark fruit, graphite, cured meats, cloves, licorice, incense and leather. This bold, dense wine packs a ton of punch. Lavender and blue fruits abound in this muscular, concentrated wine. The imposing Stagi is a wine of presence and substance.
