Review
The 2018 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Argenina is a total knock-out. Bright, aromatic and silky, the 2018 is pure class. Crushed flowers, mint, spice, licorice, tobacco and incense are some of the notes that grace this exquisite Chianti Classico. When I taste the best wines here, I often wonder why more producers aren't capable of this level of quality. Stellar.

Review
Il Palazzino's 2013 Chianti Classico Argenina offers striking depth and density, with plenty of Sangiovese character. Herbs, black olives, licorice, smoke and game create a striking aromatic presence. The masculine personality of Sangiovese from the southern reaches of Chianti Classico comes through loud and clear in this super-expressive wine.

Review
The 2014 Chianti Classico Argenina is gracious, light on its feet and very pretty. This is an especially slender vintage for the Argenina, and yet all the elements are nicely balanced. Bright red fruit and floral notes give the wine its signature aromatic lift and freshness. There is plenty to like.

A soft and silky red with plum and orange-peel flavors that are delivered in a medium-bodied, soft textured and creamy package. Drink and enjoy.

The 2015 Chianti Classico Argenina offers a super-intriguing combination of freshness and structure. Bright red berry fruit, wild flowers, sweet tobacco and a touch of new oak frame a gorgeous, inviting Chianti Classico endowed with terrific fruit intensity. *(note: now known as 'Argenina Gran Selezione')

Review
The 2016 Chianti Classico Argenina is fabulous. When so many estates are releasing 2018s and 2017s, Il Palazzino presents a striking Chianti Classico from the great 2016 vintage that overdelivers big time. Dark and imposing, as these wines tend to be, the Argenina possesses remarkable balance and tons of complexity. Dark cherry, gravel, sage, mint and leather bring out the darker side of Sangiovese. The 2016 is intense in the glass, and yet retains so much Sangiovese translucence. Best of all, it is an absolute steal. Give the 2016 a few hours of air and prepare to experience Sangiovese and Chianti Classico in all its majesty. *(note: now known as 'Argenina Gran Selezione')

Review
Il Palazzino's 2019 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Argenina is terrific. Bright, poised and articulate, the 2019 has a lot going for it. Whild cherry, tobacco, incense, licorice and dried flowers abound in this super-expressive Chianti Classico. Bright acids perk up the finish. I very much like the energy here. This is classic Sangiovese through and through.

This is fresh and red-fruited with hints of ground spices and cedar with nut shell undertones. Juicy and savory with a medium body and chalky texture to the tannins. Vivid, mineral finish. Drink or hold.
