Review
The 2020 Barbera d'Alba Superiore Gepin is deep, Mavorful with tons of character. It emerges from the Cottà cru, where the wines are naturally rich and creamy. Black cherry, plum, chocolate, leather and incense all
open nicely. A year of aging in cask adds structure. What I like most about the 2020 is the combination of fruit intensity and depth, but in the restrained, classic style that is the norm here these days.

Review
The 2015 Barbera d'Alba Gepin is terrific. Dark, rich and voluptuous, but with plenty of structure, the 2015 expresses all of the natural intensity of the year while retaining a very appealing sense of translucency. Succulent dark cherry, plum, spice, leather, mint and dried herbs add to the wine's forward, racy personality.

Review
The 2016 Barbera d'Alba Superiore Gepin is superb, and it has just been bottled. Vibrant, nuanced and full of life, the 2016 exudes the combination of richness and detail that makes so many wines in this vintage so alluring. Black cherry, plum, lavender, licorice and dark spice add further shades of complexity to this super-expressive Barbera from Albino Rocca. The Gepin emerges from a parcel in Cottà and spends 12 months in cask.

Review
Just bottled, the 2017 Barbera d'Alba Superiore Gepin is dark, racy and enveloping, with plenty of the textural richness that is such a signature in this vintage. Black cherry, plum, dark chocolate, mocha, spice and licorice are all fused together. Unctuous and deep, the 2017 has plenty to offer; it may very well turn out even better than this note suggests.

Review
The 2021 Barbera d'Alba Superiore Gepin offers a compelling mix of dark cherry/plum fruit, along with hints of mocha, spice and leather that add complexity. Bright acids pull it all together nicely. The 2021 spent a year in a cask. It's gorgeous wine and also a fine example of the house style at Albino Rocca today.
