Review
The 2016 Barbera d'Alba La Chiesa is rich and a touch rough around the edges, but also quite pleasing in its own way. Super-ripe red cherry and spice notes are pushed forward in this lush, super-expressive Barbera.

Review
Quite a lot of wood packed into this Barbera, which adds a dimension of peperoncino and black pepper to otherwise solid dark plums. Full-bodied and dense for a Barbera, but the natural high acidity here gives this good kick and form. Drink now.

Review
The 2017 Barbera d'Alba La Chiesa is a very beautiful, luscious Barbera with terrific presence and tons of style. Sweet red cherry jam, mocha, spice and floral notes give the 2017 just enough freshness to play off its rich, sumptuous fruit. One of things I admire most about the 2017 is how it conveys intensity without excess weight. This mid-weight Barbera is pure pleasure.

Cocoa, dark plums, ripe cherries and vanilla on the nose. Full-bodied and ripe with fine tannins and a balanced, bright finish. Drink now or hold.
