Review
The 2012 Chianti Colli Senesi Riserva Santa Maria is deep, fleshy and super-expressive. Succulent dark cherry and plum fruit are pushed forward in this open-knit, inviting Riserva. There is more than enough tannin and overall structure to provide rewarding drinking for at least a number of years.

Review
The 2012 Chianti Colli Senesi Riserva Santa Maria (made with organically farmed fruit) has taken on a very interesting and attractive evolutionary trajectory. The bouquet is redolent of balsamic tones that suggest eucalyptus oil, cola and licorice. To my nose, that eucalyptus tone is by far and long the most defining. The wine is clean and direct in terms of mouthfeel, with a polished, almost glossy shine to those tannins.

Review
I like the dried fruit and fruit cake here, even though it heads into slightly jammy territory. Full-bodied, round and spicy with lots of candied plum cake. With a little more freshness, this could be outstanding. Drink now.

This is beginning to mature, offering woodsy, mushroom and leather flavors to accompany its fading cherry and plum fruit. Balanced and long, with notes of bitter almond, iron and tobacco adding depth. Drink now through 2036. 200 cases made, 30 cases imported.

Review
The 2016 Chianti Colli Senesi Riserva Santa Maria is one of the best wines I have tasted from the appellation. Succulent dark cherry, plum, spice, lavender, licorice and earthy undertones all open in the glass. There is a bit of tannin and oak that needs to resolve, but overall, the 2016 is so impressive. It is quite simply one of the most complete and alluring wines I have tasted from Colli Senesi.

Review
A core of saturated black cherry and blackberry fruit is framed by earth and Tuscan herbs in this lively, solidly built red, which ends with a dense matrix of tannins and persistent savory accents. Sangiovese and Canaiolo. Best from 2023 through 2032. 250 cases made, 30 cases imported.
