Firm, grippy tannins give the 2009 its shape and more than enough spine to support a mid-weight frame laced with hints of tobacco, smoke, leather, licorice, herbs and incense. Although not the last word in complexity, the 2009 will drink well for at least another handful of years.

Deep and packed, yet also wonderfully translucent the San Sebastiano allo Zoppo expresses all the magic of Nebbiolo in Lessona. This is a tremendous edition of one of the region's very top wines. It's not the most complex wine at Sell, but it is very easy to drink and enjoy. Subtle savory and licorice notes linger.
