Review
The cherry fruit is shaded by chocolate accents in this rich, fleshy red. Though expressive, this remains elegant, offering a mix of fruit, spice and mineral as it winds down on the finish. Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Best from 2020 through 2032.

Review
The 2017 Carmignano Carmione is racy, open-knit and absolutely delicious. Super-ripe red cherry, spice and floral notes all wrap around the palate as this sumptuous, racy Carmignano shows off its considerable personality and class. This is another magnificent wine from Pratesi.

Review
The 2018 Carmignano Carmione is a rich, explosive wine. Inky dark fruit, chocolate, spice, licorice and tobacco all meld together. This is an especially flamboyant, exotic style, but it works. Dollops of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot round out the blend.

A rich display of wild berry preserves complemented by hints of sweet mint and spicy tangerine lift up from the 2019 Carmignano Carmione. A soothing wave of elegant, dark red fruits washes across the palate, laced with blue-tinged florals and hints of spice. This leaves the senses coated in violet and lavender tones, along with a subtle layer of fine tannins. It’s an expression that is incredibly balanced and seductive.

Review
The 2020 Carmignano Carmione's bouquet is dusty and sweetly spiced, with masses of crushed raspberry, cinnamon, clove and nuances of fresh mint. This is creamy in texture yet energetic and highly expressive. A wave of tantalizing acidity carries zesty red fruits and licorice tones. It leaves a staining of primary concentration while tapering oN with a tart, wild berry twang as the mouth is left to water under an air of inner violet Oorals. The 2020 is a pleasure to taste today and is made in a more immediate style. This is a blend of 70% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc.

Review
The 2016 Carmignano Riserva Il Circo Rosso is fabulous. Succulent dark cherry, plum, lavender, spice, menthol, licorice and plum are all woven together in a deep, beautifully expressive Tuscan red that delivers the goods big time. The Cabernet Sauvignon, a signature of Carmignano, comes through nicely. Moreover, I see more finesse than in the past.

Review
The 2017 Carmignano Riserva Il Circo Rosso is superb. I am quite taken with the wine’s balance. The Circo Rosso is a sumptuous wine, and yet it retains plenty of Sangiovese translucence in its red berry fruit profile. Cedar, tobacco, dried flowers, mint and anise build into the long, beautifully persistent finish.

Review
The 2018 Carmignano Il Circo Rosso Riserva starts out a bit coy in the glass, slowly revealing a delicate yet deep bouquet of cherry sauce, ginger and autumnal spice offset by a hint of sour citrus. There’s an undeniable elegance to its velvety textures and polished red and black fruits, perfectly balanced by brisk acids and a coating of sweet wood tannin that forms toward the close. This tapers off long, with medium structure and a pleasant inner sweetness and spice that reminds me of a holiday rum cake. It’s really stunning. The Il Circo Riserva is a blend of 70% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc that was refined for eighteen months in a combination of new and used barriques.

The 2019 Carmignano Riserva Il Circo Rosso lifts from the glass like a spice box full of dried Lowers, allspice, cloves, lavender and rum-soaked cherries. It's elegant to the core, with a silken textural wave of dark red fruits nicely contrasted by sour citrus and pretty inner Lorals that cascade across the palate. The 2019

A very ripe and rich expression with some vanilla spices and chocolate that help cover up the jammy berries. Kirsch, ripe plums and currants extend to a rich, flavorful palate with generous sweet fruit and high acidity. Slightly warming finish. A bit overripe this year. Drink now.

Review
Pretty violet and lavender tones give way to crushed raspberry and chalk dust as the 2020 Rosso Locorosso comes to life in the glass. This is a round and juicy style with zesty acidity that motivates its tart cherry berry fruits and inner herbal tones. The 2020 tapers oK with a sublet tug of tannin, more of an ascent than a hindrance, as pretty inner rose tones slowly fade. This is a vividly fruity yet wonderfully balanced Carmignano Sangiovese.
