Review
The darkly alluring 2017 Imperium Rosso lifts from the glass with a bouquet of sweet violets, lavender, blackberries and exotic brown spices. This is silky and deeply textural, with sapid black fruits and minerals that saturate while leaving fine tannins that add cheek-puckering tension toward the close. The 2017 finishes lightly structured and classically dry, leaving purple-toned inner florals and hints of licorice to linger long. I love the balance here, yet a year or two of cellaring is recommended. The Imperium Rosso is a blend of 70% Nero d'Avola, 20% Nocera and 10% Nerello Mascalese.

Review
There's a mentholated freshness to the 2016 Imperium Rosso Riserva, which enlivens its bouquet of crushed blueberries, savory herbs, violets and ashen stone. This is round and silky in feel without any hard edges to be found, while displaying ripe red and blue fruits that coat the palate and leave a staining of minerality toward the close. The 2016 tapers off long yet refreshing and only lightly structured, as notes of black currant and lavender slowly fade. This is showing beautifully today, yet it also has the balance to excel through medium-term cellaring. The Imperium Rosso Riserva is a blend of 70% Nero d'Avola, 20% Nocera and 10% Nerello Mascalese.

Review
The 2016 Don Giovanni, a varietal Nocera, captivates with dark depths of black currant, dried roses, cloves and savory herbs. This is soft in texture, yet juicy and lifted, with mineral-infused red and black berries that coast across a core of vibrant acidity. The Don Giovanni finishes a bit short yet fresh, as nuances of licorice and lavender fade away.

Review
The 2018 Nigrae wafts up with a dark and rich mix of blackberries, crushed violets and brown spice. It’s silky-smooth and pliant in feel with a lively blend of ripe wild berries and hints of sour citrus. This tapers off with medium length and only lightly structured, leaving nuances of clove and sweet pipe tobacco to linger. The Nigrae is a nicely balanced Nero d'Avola that is already very likable, but it will also excel through short-term cellaring.
