Review
This 40/40/20 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah has evolved over the years and is now made entirely without Sangiovese in favor of more Merlot. The 2016 Borgeri Rosso is all about primary fruit and freshness. It sees just eight months in oak, and the result is a very lighthearted and buoyant wine that makes for easy drinking. You might even serve it slightly chilled.

Review
The Giorgio Meletti Cavallari 2020 Bolgheri Rosso Borgeri is 50% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Syrah. The wine is fermented in cement vat and later aged for a brief eight months in barrique to add depth and easy spice nuances. I picked up on a few interesting elements from dark fruit, black plum, toasted chestnut, tarry smoke and even a touch of black olive. There is a nice dusty element to the mouthfeel. The vineyard site extends over four hectares and sees a steep incline with lots of rocks. Production is 30,000 bottles.

Review
The 2021 Bolgheri Rosso Borgeri is 50% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Syrah. The wine shows wild intensity with a marinated meat or teriyaki note with lots of spice, smoke and dark tar. There is underbrush and autumnal leaf, although the actual fruit takes second place. You do get some underplayed ripe currant and black cherry with fine-grained, young tannins. This wine is all pulp and framing and a little less intense in terms of mid-palate.
