Review
The 2012 Bolgheri Superiore Sant'Uberto opens to a brief aromatic interlude of dried violets and roses, and then segues to darker tones of blackberry marmalade, spice, leather and tobacco. The wine is composed of 50% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Franc and 15% Petit Verdot. It aged in barrique for 18 months.

Review
The 2015 Bolgheri Superiore Sant'Uberto presents ripe cherry and blackberry aromas, later followed by spice, tar and tilled earth. This is a medium to full-bodied Bolgheri Superiore blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot that is aged in barrique for 18 months. The fruit is forthcoming and bold.

Review
The 2016 Bolgheri Superiore Sant'Uberto delivers lasting concentration and power. The aromas are tucked into the tight fiber of the wine with black cherry, prune and black currant. Cherry and cranberry flavors appear on the close, giving this wine a less opulent or ripe personality compared to many of its peers in this vintage. The blend is Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Some 6,000 bottles were made.

Pretty aromas and flavors of herbs, currants and fresh spice here. Medium to full body, firm and chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. Succulent and wild. Drink or hold.

Review
With 3,500 bottles made, Villanoviana's 2017 Bolgheri Superiore Sant'Uberto is a hearty blend of 50% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Franc and 15% Petit Verdot from a scorching-hot vintage. The wine is packed tight with lots of dark fruit, spice and background notes of smoke and tarry asphalt. It finishes on a soft note, thanks to the vintage ripeness, but you also get those bitter phenolics that are characteristics of this growing season. I'm not sure that those tannins will ever fully relax.

Review
The 2019 Bolgheri Superiore Sant'Uberto (a blend of organic 50% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Franc and 15% Petit Verdot) has a lot of dark, brooding fruit, but the wine also shows green highlights with grilled herb, black olive and powdered white pepper. Those savory tones are contrasted somewhat abruptly against very sweet tannins and a creamy texture. This 3,800-bottle production represents a selection of fruit from the estate's 4.3-hectares of vines just off the Tuscan coastline.
