Plenty of soy sauce and balsamic vinegar on the nose with some maturing blackberries. Bold and rather tannic, this packs quite a punch at the mineral finish. Drink now.

Review
The 2010 Bramaterra I Porfidi is understated and classy, with an airy, weightless personality to match. Savory herb, white pepper, cranberry and mint are some of the many nuances that give the 2010 its bright, aromatically intense feel. I Porfidi is 70% Nebbiolo, 20% Croatina and 10% Vespolina.

Review
This opens with subtle aromas of underbrush, dark culinary spice, pressed rose, a whiff of tar and mature berry. The smooth if rather evolved palate shows dried cherry, licorice, mint and a hint of iron alongside polished tannins. Drink soon to capture the fruit sensations.

Review
The 2011 Bramaterra I Porfidi is an absolute delight. Crushed flowers, white pepper, mint, rosewater and blood orange give this mid-weight Bramaterra terrific aromatic presence. The 2011 is maybe just a bit ethereal, but its balance is top notch. Drink this beguiling Bramaterra over the next decade or so.

Review
The 2012 Bramaterra I Porfidi is a wine of depth and substance. There's a real feeling of gravitas to the 2012. Ripe black cherry, game, licorice, smoke, gravel, spice and dried herbs all build. The 2012 is heady and exuberant, with plenty of both fruit and structure.

Review
The 2013 Bramaterra I Porfidi is a gorgeous wine to drink now, as it is just starting to reach its first plateau of maturity. Black cherry, menthol, licorice, game, dried herbs, incense and tobacco meld together in the glass. Deep and layered, with compelling inner sweetness and fine balance, I Porfidi is terrific in 2013.

Review
The 2014 Bramaterra I Porfidi offers an intriguing mix of textural density married with the strong savory character of this cold, late-ripening vintage. Readers should expect a dark, virile Bramaterra with a pretty subdued expression of fruit.
