Sleek and juicy, framing the black cherry and black currant flavors with lift and focus. Finishes with finesse and an extension of the fruit flavors, tinged by earth and tea details. Offers lightly dusty tannins. Drink now through 2024.

Review
The 2018 Chianti Colli Senesi is a fresh, vibrant red to drink now and over the next few years. Sweet tobacco, cedar, mint and anise overtones add aromatic nuance to a core of sweet red Sangiovese fruit. The purity of the flavors and the wine's sheer deliciousness are both notable. Medium in body, perfumed and light on its feet, the 2018 is another winner from Simone Santini. Best of all, the 2018 is a screaming value.

Underbrush, dark-skinned berries and ground clove mingle with a whiff of fragrant purple flowers on this 100% Sangiovese. Tangy and full-bodied, the savory palate doles out succulent black cherry, star anise and a hint of baking spice set against taut, dusty tannins and bright acidity. Drink through 2023. Saturated flavors of black cherry, black currant, violet and iron mark this fleshy red, which is dense, yet the ripe, sweet fruit persists.

Review
The 2020 Chianti Colli Senesi is an absolute delight. Fresh, gracious and medium in body, the 2020 is super-refined from start to finish. Crushed berry fruit, spice and red flowers give this aromatic, gracious Chianti so much appeal. The 2020 is a total charmer. That’s all there is to it.

Review
The 2021 Chianti Colli Senesi is fabulous. Rich and punchy, the 2021 offers quite a bit of intensity in its dark red Sangiovese fruit. It's a terrific wine in its peer group and for the appellation, although I must say the 14.5% alcohol is a bit surprising.

Review
Le Calcinaie’s 2016 Chianti Colli Senesi is gorgeous. Deep, fleshy and generous, the 2016 offers terrific depth and complexity at this level and price point. Ripe dark cherry and plum fruit give the 2016 its intense feel, but there is plenty of freshness and nuance as well. The 2016 spent 10 months in cask. Best of all, 2016 is a terrific value.

Review
The 2022 Chianti Colli Senesi is a rich, heady wine. Super-ripe red cherry, cedar, pipe tobacco, mint and dried flowers are all dialed up in this lush, succulent Chianti Colli Senesi. The style is a bit pushed because of the ripeness of the year, but this is nicely balanced.

Notes of ripe raspberries and dark cherries with hints of cocoa and bitter spices. Medium-bodied with firm, compact tannins and velvety texture. Lengthy and structured. Drink or hold.
