Within the eastern Valpolicella zone. Red fruits, bing cherries, bergamot, a somewhat darker brood than Burgundy as we once knew it, but offering a firmer, more savory and almost ferrous expression than a typical Pinot from, say, the New World. avory marked tannins and a finish of camphor, smoked meat and the carnal whiff of autumnal leaves. Liminal and intriguing. This is excellent, exciting, idiosyncratic by virtue of its obscurity and yet so good. It will make for mid-term ageing and
