Review
A beam of pure cherry is the hallmark of this round, supple red. Floral, mint, mineral and tobacco notes add depth as this unfolds gracefully to a lingering finish. This is firmly structured, yet balanced, with an aftertaste of fruit and wild herbs, tar and a chalky feel. Best from 2024 through 2040.

Review
The 2018 Barbaresco is a terrific introduction to the year. Sweet tobacco, licorice, mint, dried flowers and rose petal all grace this ethereal, classy Barbaresco from the Rocca family. Silky tannins give the 2018 tons of up-front appeal and plenty of charm. This is beautifully done. The straight Barbaresco is mostly Meruzzano plus young vines in Ronchi.

Review
The 2019 Barbaresco is a very pretty, intensely aromatic wine. Dried herbs, rose petal, blood orange, cedar, sweet pipe tobacco and sweet dried cherry all grace this attractive, mid-weight Barbaresco from the Meruzzano cru. Drink it over the next decade or so. I would give this a good bit of air
firrst, though.

Review
Austere and tannic, this is monolithic and unyielding, with elements of ripe fruit, and sweet spice and tar notes. Hard to see where this is going now, but shows character. Reveals pure cherry flavors after a few hours of aeration, so decant or cellar. Best from 2011 through 2036.

Review
The 2016 Barbaresco is a gorgeous entry-level wine in this range. Dark and fleshy, the 2016 offers terrific depth as well as plenty of character, which is great to see in its peer group. Black cherry, plum, mocha, leather, spice and licorice all meld together. One of the more open wines in the range, the Barbaresco will also give readers an idea of what to expect. This is an absolutely delicious wine in its peer group and price range. The straight Barbaresco is a blend from Meruzzano and young vine fruit from Ronchi.

Review
Bright and energetic, this is full of cherry, raspberry and tar flavors, with a hint of wild herb, all matched to a rich texture. Balanced overall, this firms up as the dusty tannins kick in on the lingering finish. Best from 2023 through 2040.

Review
The 2017 Barbaresco is a gorgeous entry-level offering from Albino Rocca. Ample and beautifully resonant on the palate, the 2017 possesses striking depth while retaining all of the glorious translucence of Nebbiolo. In this vintage, the 2017 has a bit more body and overall richness than is the norm, but that works so well in dialing up the sweet red berry, spice, mint and floral notes. It is such a gorgeous wine.

Review
The 2020 Barbaresco is lovely. A wine of charm, the 2020 shows how appealing the vintage is. Crushed flowers, mint, spice, blood orange and mint are all nicely delineated. This mid-weight, vibrant Barbaresco is impeccable. It's a gorgeous entry-level offering from Albino Rocca.

Review
The style is fairly reductive, with a menthol character, dark cherry fruit and minerals on the savoury nose. Full of sucrosity on the palate, with crunchy tannins of good ripeness, refreshing, lively, brilliant acidity and an amazing liquorice aftertaste with a zip of sternness which is welcome at this stage. From a vineyard with southeast exposure planted between 1950 and 1980, this ages for at least 20 months in German and Austrian oak casks.
