Review
Bright red. Perfumed herbs complement strawberry and violet on the enticing nose. Then light and lively, but with precise flavors of strawberry and red cherries complicated by flint, lavender and herbs. The 2016 Bozner Leiten finishes long with a hint of mineral dust and repeating notes of flowers. This overtly fruity wine features sneaky concentration. Very well done. The Bozner Leiten denomination is German for Colli di Bolzano, or “hills of Bolzano”. These wines are made with a minimum 85% Schiava varieties. Putzenhof’s version is roughly 85% Schiavas and 15% Pinot Nero and Lagrein.

Review
Good bright red. Sappy, primary, ripe aromas of red cherry liqueur, smoke and herbs plus an element of higher-acid red currants. Concentrated and pliant, with sweet red berry and red cherry flavors accented by a herbal note on the long back end. Lovely.

Mushrooms, cherry stones and strawberries with a touch of white pepper on the nose. It’s medium-bodied, savory and mellow, with fine tannins and a tasty, lightly spicy finish. Drink now.

Straw-green. Lovely nose of pear, white peach, aromatic herbs and white flowers. Then a little soft on the palate, where the round, mellow flavors lack the lift and delineation of the aromas. Closes broad and ripe. Drink this highly enjoyable, accessible white in the very near future.

Review
Dark ruby. Sassafras, violet and coriander complicate blueberry and dark plum aromas and flavors. Big and rich but juicy, with a mineral bent on the long slightly oak finish. Leave this promising wine in your cellar for at least another year or so from now.

Nice meatiness here, showing notes of olives, black fruit and charcuterie. It’s medium-bodied and flavorful, with sleek and creamy tannins. Drink or hold.
