La Piòpa is Le Origini’s largest vineyard, that recently reached 14 cultivated hectares using Belussi’s Pergola. The vines of this wine are cultivated in 3 adjacent farms near the Secchia river and the section of the vineyard nearest is 300 meters from its riverside. Every single part of the estate gives a particular characteristic to the wine, which is obtained only by Lambrusco di Sorbara grapes, vinified in purity. The remaining grapes from this vineyard will become Aceto Balsamico di Modena ( the world renowned Modena’ Balsamic Vinegar ) .
The vineyard is located between Soliera e Limidi di Soliera in one of the most suitable areas for the production of Lambrusco di Sorbara, where the average age of the vines is 80 years old! The name ‘Piòpa’ is the nickname of the ‘Ghirlandina’, one of the most important towers in the town and an emblem of Modena.
