“Scuderie del cielo” literally means “stables in the sky”. If you look at the label of the wine you will see a coat of arms, on the higher left hand side, with a drawing of a winged horse standing on three rocks (representing three mountain tops of the Appenines near Tocco di Casauria). The drawing was on a tapestry belonging to Lorenzo Filomusi’s grandmother. When Lorenzo was a little boy he asked his father why the horse had wings and his father explained that the stables of this horse were in the sky and that the horse needed wings to go back to his stables at night.
