The Solenghi winery was founded in 1983 from the idea of Gaetano. Demotivated by office life, he decided to devote himself to working on a small vineyard, one hectare in all, owned by his paternal aunt Maria Teresa. From the beginning, Gaetano was joined by an old farmer, Celsino, born in 1920, who managed that vineyard before him. From him she learned that wealth of peasant knowledge with which the owned vineyards are still managed today. Respect for nature, which today we like to call environmental sustainability, was a prerogative of work right from the start, a choice that is now almost a must but then meant going against the tide. Gaetano courageously rejected the dominant economic model at that time based on maximum yields, giving up tillage, fertilization and the use of chemistry. The quantity did not matter. At the beginning of the 90s he expanded the vineyard bringing it to the approximately 2.5 hectares they have today. The goal was always focused on the quality of the grapes grown.
