Petite Arvine’s origins have perplexed the most eminent Ampelographers for a long time. It is a late-growing white grape variety, harvested during the end of September and first days of October. It prefers vineyards with good sun exposure and high daily temperatures which, if associated with important night-time temperature inversions, enhance the organoleptic characteristics. On the nose floral scents predominate, above all wisteria, then citrus notes intervene, with hints of pink grapefruit. The fresh, mineral sensations it imparts are evident in the mouth, pleasantness, and drinkability. These characteristics give the Petite Arvine wine long lasting properties aging in barrel and subsequently in bottle. It is excellent with shellfish, first courses with fresh sauces, fresh cheeses, medium-aged and on traditional soups.
