Owner

Perrone Capano family

Year of Establishment

1822

Region

Puglia

The property has been owned by the Perrone Capano family since 1628 and it is now run with passion by Roberto Capano, a trained oeconomist and sailing champion. Selected clones of typical grape varieties of the “Murge” region are grown: Uva di Troia, Aleatico, Bombino Nero, Negroamaro, Fiano. The Murge region is an area on the slopes of Castel del Monte, the beautiful octagonal Norman castle of the Swabian emperor Frederich the Second. The vineyards are worked as if they were a garden and the estate is now certified organic. The cellars are built underground in order to provide the ideal temperature and humidity for the maturation and the storage of the wines (please bear in mind that the temperature during summer can easily reach 43 degrees Celsius!). The estate offers Castel del Monte Rosso DOC, also in the Riserva version, and Puglia IGT wines.
