Refosco stands out among the local native red grapes, coming into its own as a vibrantly fresh red wine of dark color, lithe body, and liberally peppered with spice and plum flavors. It presents itself as a grape capable of depth, evolutionary capacity, and similar features, as a variety to Syrah. Colli Orientali is considered to be the finest terroir for this grape in Italy. At Aquila del Torre, the vines face south along the lower slopes, and the wine is aged in concrete vats and older barrels. Elegance is the aim. From a timid initial impact, it gradually opens out to reveal its fruity flavor and generous heart in all its splendor. Average production is 375 cases.
