The Boccella Rosa farm was founded in 1968 and is managed since 2015 by the third generation. The winery is in the most classical commune for Aglianico: Montemarano in the province of Avellino. Over the years, the property acquired new and valuable neighboring plots. The more recent implants of some incredible Aglianico, trained guyot at around the limit quote for the denomination for the production of Taurasi DOCG, precisely at 550 mt s.l.m. They also produce Coda di Volpe and a Rose Aglianico, and the cellar is already showcasing some incredible results with the first vintages (2015, 2016 & 2017). The wines are neat and clean, with incredible resonance to the classic Agalianico from this area. Full of character, high acidity, a lot of tannins, fresh dark violet fruit and flower aromas, with long persistent lingering flavors, together with a taint from the humongous anthocyanin concentration.
The company follows the principles of biodynamic and organic viticulture to help the vineyard find and maintain balance in harmony with nature, and to make the wine express the depth of the character of its soils. Love for wine and for one’s land.
