All producers are satisfied with the results of the 2004 harvest. In the Irpinia area there were rains till the end of June, summer was dry, not too hot. There was more rain at the beginning of October and at the beginning of November (Aglianico is harvested very late), but as there is a lot of ventilation (these areas are quite high) the clusters were not damaged.

Montemarano (Taurasi): “…..The 2004 wines will be elegant, with a good colour and nose, concentrated and with a good alcohol percentage.” (Salvatore Molettieri owner of Azienda Agricola Molettieri) Aglianico grapes were harvested between the 15t h and the 23r d of November.

Lapio (Fiano di Avellino): “2004 was a good year….Clusters were flawless. The wines are aromatic…..There was less quantity in comparison to 2003” (Clelia Romano owner of Azienda Vitivinicola Colli di Lapio)

Tufo (Greco di Tufo): “the 2004 vintage was splendid……The ripening of the grapes was excellent, the wines are also excellent and very fragrant. Yields were average” (Sergio Ferrara owner of Azienda Agricola Benito Ferrara) Fiano grapes were harvested on the 8t h of October, Aglianico grapes were harvested on the 1st of November.
