The “Superiore” represents a premium version of Amalia’s classic Barbera d’Alba, obtained from vinification of the finest grapes from the Sant’Anna vineyard, and renowned for superior complexity and structure. The grapes are harvested by hand, maceration with the skins for 10 days and malolactic fermentation, the wine matures in 500 liter tonneaux for at least 12 months, developing subtle woody notes that enrich the structure. This provides depth, roundness, notes reminiscent of sour cherry tart, warmth and envelopment.
