In the early 2000s, the Boffa family purchased Cascina Amalia located in Monforte d’Alba, one of the eleven municipalities to produce Barolo, along with 3 hectares of surrounding vineyards. Soon other vineyards were purchased, including two important crus for the production of Barolo, Le Coste di Monforte and Bussia.
In 2007, Paolo Boffa began to manage the cellar and wine production full-time. Today, the property consists of seven hectares of vineyards in Monforte d’Alba. The estate produces the classic wines of the area: Dolcetto, Barbera, Nebbiolo and Barolo, and a small production of a rare white grape variety, Rossese Bianco. Cascina Amalia began the conversion to fully organic agriculture and production in 2019 and became certified in 2022.
