‘Castel’ is the vineyard acquired later by the family and is located in the municipality of Negrar. It donates them grapes from a different “terroir” than the Villa one, due to the altitude and exposure that characterize it. Time ago Castel was considered a more suitable vineyard for the production of Recioto wine, but today it gives the estate an Amarone in complete explosion of notes and aromas, from softer to more balsamic and spicy ones, with a result of a bold complexity and structure.
The area is so called due to the presence of an ancient house: legends recount that it belonged to a died nobleman, then it became a watchtower. Due to its shape, the residents said it resembled a castle.
