Martignago – Vignaioli is a small family winery located in Maser, in the center of the beautiful Asolo Prosecco area. The first evidence of the farm dates back to 1853, but it was around the 1970s when Ilario introduced the winemaking entirely of his own produced grapes.
Until 2009, Ilario ran the winery in the old cellar producing two references of Prosecco and one reference of Cabernet Sauvignon. In 2010, the winery passed from Ilario to his son-in-law Simone, who now runs it together with his sister-in-law Francesca. By 2011, the construction of the new winery finally allowed the sparkling wine process to be managed in-house, and now everything is completely managed independently, from grape production to bottling.
From the vineyard to the bottle, Martignago Vignaioli’s goal is to keep the particular savory character of the Asolo territory as intact as possible. This is achieved by focusing maximum attention to keeping the vitality of the soil high, avoiding herbicides and chemical fertilizers, preferring the distribution of organic soil amendments and microorganisms, as well as applying the green manure technique. In the cellar, the concept is to leave the wine unblemished, perhaps sacrificing some fragrance for the benefit of flavor.
Martignago’s wines, thanks to Simone’s experience, the support of his family, and a careful and meticulous approach from the vineyard to bottling, are accessible, clean, dedicated to immediacy and the joy of pouring another glass. Simone and his family work to preserve the character of the territory, resulting in wines bordering on salty, with a great, natural affinity with food.
