This cru is from Castiglione Falletto, a Menzioni Geografiche Aggiuntive, or MGA*, of approximately 22 hectares in total and is part of the first class of crus in Barolo. The vineyards are approximately 1 hectare with South-West exposure. Barolo Villero was vinified in purity for the first time in 1995, when Livia began the process of parceling out the individual vineyards to express the unique characteristics of each vineyard to the maximum. The main distinctive characteristic is its extreme elegance, and immediately recognizable are the elegant floral notes and the regal, but never haughty bearing. A perfect balance, which accompanies you until the last sip.
*The Menzioni Geografiche Aggiuntive (aka MGA – Additional Geographical Mentions), in the case of Barolo, are 181 and follow the French concept of Crus, indicating production areas or, more properly, the French definition of Climat, that is, specific portions of vineyards with well-marked boundaries and which is historically known for its high wine-growing vocation.
