Cole is a geographical mention of the Barbaresco wines, characterized by a very complex marly soil. The vineyard is located on the eastern side of the ridge that descends towards Barbaresco. The laminated Sant’Agata marls in this specific soil are less evolved, therefore more bluish, and complex. The southeast exposure in a smaller amphitheater makes the location well protected and secure. This, combined with the more complex soil, produces wines with solid structure and excellent durability.
The Barbaresco Cole has a lovely, intense garnet red color with a complex, rich, and spicy aroma. Its powerful tannic taste is complex, with a full and sweet finish. It pairs well with dishes made with stewed or grilled red meats, cured meats, game, and medium-aged cheeses.
